Listed in 2019’s list of ‘Top Women in Finance in India’ and “Top 30 Fintech Influencers”, Smita Aggarwal is a fintech investor and a thought leader with deep expertise in venture capital, financial inclusion, digital banking, micro-insurance and financial regulation. She has worked with companies in India, US, Singapore, Indonesia and Bangladesh.

In her role as Global Investments Advisor with Flourish Ventures, a global fintech-focused fund of the Omidyar Group, she invests in innovative fintech startups that help advance financial health and inclusion in Asia. She has led multiple new early stage investments in companies like NeoGrowth Credit, Indifi, Bon, Kaleidofin, ZineOne, ShopUp, GramCover, Qoala and more. She has held leadership positions with Omidyar Network, Fullerton, Reserve Bank of India and ICICI Bank, with a successful track record of building businesses from scratch, introducing new products, and driving growth through innovation. She was also a member of a sub-committee appointed by the Reserve Bank of India on Household Finance.

As Board member of Indian Cancer Society, Smita conceptualized and executed India’s first mutual fund for philanthropy, in partnership with HDFC AMC. She designed and led the Cancer Cure Fund project, and helped raise over USD 10 million for the cancer cure project. A chartered accountant, Smita graduated from Sydenham College in Mumbai and attended executive programs at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management.
