About Catalyst Fund

Catalyst Fund is an impact tech VC firm that backs pre-seed and mission-driven founders in Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Through our inclusive tech accelerators, we have delivered capital and deep venture-building support to 61 startups across 15 emerging markets, including Chipper Cash, Wasoko, Turaco, Cowrywise, Boost, Indicina, and Lami.

Building on this success, we have launched a dedicated $25m fund focused on startups in Africa that build the resilience of climate-vulnerable communities. We will actively invest in 40 early-stage startups in Africa across the next 2 years, supporting them from pre-seed to Series A. The team is headquartered in Nairobi with a presence in London, Paris, Barcelona, and New York.

About the Role:

We are seeking a long-term member of the Catalyst Fund family who is excited and committed to investing in technology to create a scalable impact across emerging markets. As our Investment Principal, you will be a core member of our investment team’s leadership. You will lead our end-to-end investment processes, from driving sourcing initiatives to closing transactions. Post-investment, you will work closely with our venture-building teams to define and prioritize the scope of our hands-on support to our portfolio. As part of the leadership team, you will also have a critical role in a diverse and firm-wide set of initiatives to enhance our fund’s operations and strategy.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
