FIBR is exploring the potential of superplatforms, the major tech platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp and others and their impact on African economies as they expand into frontier markets. What we don’t yet know or understand is what merchants are doing on these platforms and how e-commerce in Africa will unfold. FIBR is researching merchants in Ghana, Tanzania and Kenya to understand who these online merchants are, what they need to grow their businesses and how superplatforms can provide the services sellers need to succeed online.
