ASIF - BFA Global

ASIF will support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to deliver innovative climate adaptation solutions that strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities.

Backed by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with BFA Global, ASIF accelerates the development, deployment, and scale of climate technologies led by SMEs. The facility is a sub-program of the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA).

ASIF partners with SMEs across Africa, Latin America, and Asia to provide tailored support through two tracks, designed to meet SMEs where they are in their journey:

Ignite

Early‑stage support

For SMEs still developing their solutions and not yet testing with end users. Ignite helps validate ideas, refine products, and prepare for real-world deployment.

Through cohort-based workshops and specialist office hours, founders build early traction and lay the operational foundations for their climate solutions.

Propel

Growth & scaling support

For SMEs with products already in the market and strong potential to scale. Propel focuses on expanding operations, increasing reach to end users, and strengthening investment readiness.

Propel combines performance-based grants with bespoke venture-building support tailored to each SME’s stage and needs.

Beyond traditional acceleration support, ASIF integrates AI tools and data-driven methods throughout, helping SMEs validate faster, measure impact more rigorously, and scale smarter.
