The COVID-19 pandemic has altered the workings of the global economy. This has led to downturns and possible economic recession across the globe. It is conceivable that these negative effects will be felt most keenly on the African continent where large parts of the population remain in poverty and economic indices are not as strong.
Although the pandemic is still far from over, it is important to begin to think and plan for recovery. This provides hope for the future and a plan for how to get there. As leading players in the African tech ecosystem, we have the responsibility of continuing to develop the ecosystem, particularly in moments of uncertainty. Our goal is to facilitate conversations, insight, collaborations, and provide resources that will help the startup economy remain resilient through the crisis and emerge better in a post-COVID/ crisis economy.
This event is a digital dialogue to pull the collective insights, ideas, experiences, and aspirations of investors, corporates, and other stakeholders in the ecosystem to explore how we can accelerate recovery and build sustainable and profitable businesses using fintech as a vehicle.
