Joel is the Senior Accountant at BFA Global, where he oversees full-cycle financial operations for both the Kenyan subsidiary and the US head office. He is responsible for preparing and presenting financial statements, updating and tracking budgets and cash flows for management planning, ensuring compliance with tax and audit requirements, and supporting the Head of Project Operations with financial reporting and other needs. Joel works closely with the Group CFO to provide strategic financial insights that guide organizational decision-making.
Previously, Joel served as Senior Accountant at TLT Connected Ltd, a subsidiary of Teltonika IoT Group (Lithuania), where he managed end-to-end accounting functions, prepared financial reports, designed internal controls, ensured tax compliance, and monitored cash flow and operating budgets. He also gained extensive experience in audit and financial management through roles at PKF Kenya, RSM Eastern Africa, BCD Travel Kenya, and Alive and Kicking Kenya.
His areas of expertise include financial accounting and reporting, budgeting and cashflow management, tax compliance and auditing, internal controls and risk management, and team leadership and stakeholder support. Having spent significant time as an external auditor, Joel has worked across sectors such as financial services, manufacturing and distribution, retail and hospitality, technology and telecoms, real estate and construction, transport and logistics, international NGOs and charities, and foundations and trusts. Joel holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from Chuka University (Second Class Upper Honours) and is a fully Certified Public Accountant (CPAK).
