Senior Consultant, Inclusive Finance, Livelihoods, and Agriculture

Nancy is a Senior Consultant, Inclusive Finance, Livelihoods, and Agriculture at BFA Global, where she specialises in inclusive finance and digital payments, livelihoods, and digital public infrastructure (DPIs). She works with governments, regulators, and development partners across sub-Saharan Africa, MENA, and South Asia to design and implement interoperable digital infrastructure and innovative digital solutions that advance financial inclusion, women’s economic empowerment, agriculture, and youth livelihoods. Her current focus includes leading women’s economic empowerment initiatives, MSME support, driving climate resilience in agricultural value chains through financial systems, and supporting policy and regulatory efforts for inclusive financial services.

Nancy brings over 17 years of experience in inclusive finance and digital transformation. At BFA Global, she has managed high-impact projects for the Gates Foundation, FSD Ethiopia, and Mastercard, including research and implementation programs to strengthen women’s livelihoods, digitise farmer value chains, and enhance consumer protection systems. Previously, she served as a Digital Financial Services Specialist at MicroSave Consulting, where she spearheaded the development of a Digital Economy Blueprint for Kaduna State, led Agent Network Accelerator studies across 14 countries, and supported digital transformation for financial institutions and regulators. Earlier in her career, she was part of Equity Bank Kenya’s pioneering team for agent banking and digitising payments for large-scale social protection programs in northern Kenya.

Her areas of expertise include inclusive finance and livelihoods, digital public infrastructure (identity, payments, data protection, cybersecurity), digital financial services and agent networks, gender and climate resilience in agricultural value chains and financial systems, and policy and regulatory design for financial inclusion and stakeholder engagement. Nancy holds an MBA in E-commerce from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a BA in Communication and Sociology from the University of Nairobi. She is fluent in English and Kiswahili, with beginner-level French, and speaks Kikuyu as her native language.
