Sebastian is a Senior Design Specialist at BFA Global. His expertise includes design research, service design, and digital product design for low-income customers in emerging markets, particularly for Latin America and East Africa.
At BFA Global, Sebastian is responsible for leading any customer insights and design research efforts company-wide, including usability assessments, design sprints, exploratory research, and collaborative design workshops with end-customers and staff from partner organizations to inform product design and strategy. As a technical expert for Catalyst Fund startups, he advises technical teams and product managers from inclusive fin-tech startups on how to apply user-centered design research and agile design techniques to inform product design and user experience.
His experience and interest span across a broad range of topics and projects, with a particular interest in digital finance, and digital platform work as means for progressive formality. Sebastián holds a BA in Design from Los Andes University (Colombia) and an MFA in Design for Social Innovation from the School of Visual Arts in New York.
