Valerie de la Fuente is Managing Conusltant at Mastercard, where she has led projects with the main banks and fintechs in Mexico and Central America, including the Partnership for Central America initiative that seeks to promote financial inclusion for 5 million people and 1 million MSMEs. Before joining Mastercard, she worked at Euromonitor Chicago as a Consultant for Latin America specializing in Financial Services. Previously, Valerie worked for 3 years at the Mexican Ministry of Finance and at the National Banking and Securities Commission. As Director of Access to Financial Services, she was part of the team that issued the Fintech Law and developed the National Financial Inclusion Policy. He was also part of the Office of Economic Advisers of the Cabinet of the President of Mexico. Valerie has a Master's Degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and another in Political Science from ITAM, where she graduated with honors and received Honorable Mention in the Tlacaélel National Economics Award and Research Award ex ITAM.

Valerie de la Fuente es Gerente de Consultoría en Mastercard, donde ha liderado proyectos con los principales bancos y fintechs en México y Centro América, incluyendo la iniciativa Partnership for Central America que busca fomentar la inclusión financiera de 5 millones de personas y 1 millón de Mipymes. Antes de unirse a Mastercard trabajó en Euromonitor Chicago como Consultora para Latinoamérica especializada en Servicios Financieros. Previamente, Valerie trabajó durante 3 años en la Secretaría de Hacienda de México y en la Comisión Nacional Bancaria y Valores. Como Directora de Acceso a Servicios Financieros, formó parte del equipo que emitió la Ley Fintech y desarrolló la Política Nacional de Inclusión Financiera. También formó parte de la Oficina de Asesores Económicos del Gabinete del Presidente de México. Valerie tiene una Maestría en Políticas Públicas de la Universidad de Chicago y una Licenciatura en Economía y otra en Ciencias Políticas del ITAM, donde se graduó con honores y recibió Mención Honorífica en el Premio Nacional Tlacaélel de Economía y Premio de Investigación ex ITAM.
