About the Role
The Senior Director, Global Advisory & Partnerships is a critical strategic leadership role responsible for expanding BFA Global’s advisory footprint, strengthening global partnerships, and driving the development of multi-country initiatives and integrated solution bundles. Sitting above regional structures, the role enhances the organization’s ability to pursue global opportunities, ensure coherence across practices, and deliver high-quality advisory and venture-building work at scale.
Working closely with the Managing Director, the Senior Director will lead the advancement of BFA Global’s global strategy; cultivate and grow high-value partnerships with DFIs, multilaterals, impact investors, philanthropies, and other strategic actors; and spearhead the design of large, multi-year, multi-country programs. The role will also guide the evolution and operationalization of BFA’s product and solution strategy, ensuring advisory delivery excellence, consistent quality assurance, and the development of scalable offerings aligned with market needs.
In addition, the Senior Director will expand BFA Global’s engagement with impact investors and catalytic capital providers, while supporting internal alignment, change management, and the adoption of new ways of working to strengthen integration across teams and regions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships & Global Accounts
- Lead and manage a portfolio of global strategic partners (DFIs, multilaterals, philanthropic foundations, large INGOs, impact investors).
- Ensure consistent, high-quality engagement across regions and offerings.
- Build and maintain anchor accounts, coordinating with Regional Directors to ensure alignment across global and local priorities.
- Support the CEO/MD in consortium building, funder engagement, and relationship cultivation.
- Develop strategic partnership roadmaps and joint action plans for high-value relationships.
Solution Bundles, Product Strategy & Advisory Integration
- Drive the development of cross-cutting solution bundles to move BFA Global beyond project-by-project advisory.
- Work with Practice Leads (e.g., AgriTech, Climate, FinTech, AI) to define integrated, repeatable offerings.
- Partner with the Venture Studio, Advisory, and Research teams to create productized tools, methodologies, and IP.
- Develop go-to-market plans and enable regional teams with business development assets and training.
- Promote knowledge integration and consistent advisory standards globally.
Multi-Country Programs
- Design and lead multi-country, multi-million dollar programs
- Ensure alignment with regional leadership.
- Coordinate consortium building, partner mapping, and program positioning for competitive tenders.
- Translate global opportunity areas into concept notes, pitches, and fundable program designs.
- Ensure opportunities are shaped in ways that leverage regional strengths while aligning with BFA’s global strategy.
Strategy, Performance & Thought Leadership
- Contribute to global strategic planning and yearly objective-setting.
- Represent BFA Global in speaking engagements, high-level dialogues, and industry working groups.
- Develop thought leadership aligned with BFA’s impact priorities and growth agenda.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Spanish fluency is a must (written and spoken), with the ability to effectively engage partners and stakeholders.
- 12–15+ years of experience in international development, financial inclusion, digital innovation, climate resilience, economic development, or adjacent domains.
- Proven experience managing major donor/DFI relationships and multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Track record of designing or leading multi-country programs.
- Demonstrated leadership in advisory, consulting, or program strategy roles.
- Product strategy or solution-bundling experience (e.g., developing playbooks, IP, toolkits, or integrated offerings).
- Experience working across multiple geographies and cultures.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to shape investment-worthy program designs.
Preferred
- Experience in fintech, digital transformation, inclusive finance, climate innovation, or emerging market ecosystems.
- Prior work with multilaterals, DFIs, philanthropic foundations, or large INGOs.
- Experience with venture-building or product commercialization.
- Master’s degree in public policy, economics, business, or related field.
