Dustin is a Consulting Associate with BFA Global’s ClimaFii Alliance, where he identifies and advises seed-stage energy and mobility startups across Africa. He supports portfolio companies in developing go-to-market strategies, strengthening operational excellence, structuring asset finance, and raising capital.
Previously, Dustin held several leadership roles at African asset finance innovator M-KOPA, including General Manager of Tanzania, Global Director of Credit, and most recently as Director of Mobility, where he built M-KOPA into the market-leading financier of electric motorcycles in East Africa. Prior to M-KOPA, Dustin managed Tanzania operations for wind power project developer Upepo Energy, led structured finance for SunFunder (acquired by Mirova), and closed more than $540 million in solar project investments as Vice President of Environmental Finance at Wells Fargo. He began his career in investment banking with The Balloch Group in Beijing.
His technical expertise spans asset finance and credit risk management, project and structured finance, and commercial strategy. He also brings deep experience in market entry and development, supporting startup and growth-stage climate, energy, and mobility ventures across emerging markets.
Dustin holds an MBA with Honors from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland, and a BA from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. He also earned certificates in Environmental Studies, Chinese Language and Culture, and Spanish Language and Culture. He is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Mandarin and Swahili.
