Salma has over 16 years of combined leadership experience at the senior level in Telecommunication, Education, Tourism & Hospitality, as well as in the private sector as an Entrepreneur. She also has solid consulting experience leading projects in the African continent's Fintech, Employment/Jobtech, Climate Resilience, and Digital Commerce ecosystems.
Since 2018, Salma has been providing technical support/advisory services on various projects that aim to support the growth of SMEs and create decent employment for the youth. She has supported entrepreneurs from multiple sectors through business development & coaching, strategic planning, leadership & governance.
As a consultant with BFA Global, she successfully led the iHuzo project, a Mastercard-funded project that aimed to improve the livelihoods of people by creating 1500 jobs. She contributed to the development of the digital playbook, and currently serves as project manager with the Jobtech Alliance, in collaboration with Mercy Corps, a project designed to support digital platforms that connect people to work opportunities that build livelihoods.
Salma is passionate about people’s growth; she runs a business in capacity building that focuses on leadership skills development and offers technical support to SMEs. She led an accelerator program funded by the World Bank that aimed at offering technical & soft skills development, as well as perpetual guidance to green entrepreneurs as one intervention to make them investment-ready. She continues to prepare and facilitate tailored leadership training programs for non-profit, private & public sectors.
She is a certified trainer, speaker, and coach with the John Maxwell Team and a certified coach with the Coach Master Academy, an ICF-accredited body.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Communication Management. She is fluent in English and French and qualified to lead multifaceted programs requiring stakeholder engagement in English and French.
