Illa is an artisan based in Ghana who sells his goods both in-person in an artisan marketplace, and online. The online platform he uses is called Novica. He sat down with the iWorker Project to discuss the differences he experienced between selling offline versus online, and how selling on Novica has impacted his business and quality of life.

Illa sells more online because there is a lot of competition in the artisan market where he relies on foot traffic. Novica offers incremental free-interest loans starting at $400. Borrowers, like Illa who started with $400, repay over the course of a year from their sales. Illa has made enough money to acquire two more shops, land to built a house, and to travel for leisure.
