The study, commissioned by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, provides an overview of recent developments in the sector and assesses whether digital microinsurance can provide the growth injection the microinsurance market needs to manage the risks of emerging consumers. It highlights that the digitization of microinsurance can provide the massive potential for scale, as well as enable lower distribution costs and more effective processes, including premium collection and claims processes and payments.
