We are thrilled to announce the fellows selected for the Africa Blue Wave and the Regen Wave – focused on building the Blue Economy and Green Economy in Africa. After a highly competitive selection process, 44 exceptional individuals from 12 African countries have been accepted into the program based on their dedication and talent for creating innovative nature-positive solutions for oceans and climate resilience.

Supported by FSD Africa, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the TECA program managed by BFA Global, and OceanHub Africa, these waves aim to empower the next generation of climate entrepreneurs actively tackling climate change challenges.

Over seven months, the fellows will collaborate with experienced venture builders, advisors, strategists, and industry experts to develop solutions focused on the blue and green economy. Through weekly masterclasses and founder fireside chats, they will gain key skills for building a viable business with the goal of creating tech-enabled startups.

Kicking off with an in-person huddle in Watamu, Kenya, this initial orientation will ground fellows in the core modules of the Wave, expose them to blue and green economy initiatives and concepts, while enabling them to form venture teams, connect with mentors, and meet potential co-founders. After this immersive interaction, the remainder of the program will be conducted virtually to provide flexibility as fellows build out their startup concepts with ongoing remote guidance.

At the end of the Wave, the most promising ventures that have achieved significant progress will pitch to external investors and industry leaders to receive pre-seed capital to accelerate their startup and attract follow-on funding.

We are excited to introduce this group of talented fellows. Meet the fellows.
