Arend Kulenkampff

Senior Consultant

Arend is a Senior Consultant working across BFA Global and Catalyst Fund as a policy and regulation expert. Previously, Arend was the program lead at BFA’s RegTech for Regulators Accelerator (R2A), where he helped to develop regulatory and supervisory technology (regtech, suptech) solutions for financial authorities and government across the world. Arend joined BFA Global from Fitch Ratings, where he was Director of Sovereign Ratings for Latin America, responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of public-sector issuers across the region. Prior to that, as a Senior Economist at Swiss Re, Arend produced insights about the insurance and reinsurance industry globally, with a specific focus on catastrophe risk and insurtech in Latin America. Arend has also worked in corporate and investment banking at Standard Bank in Johannesburg, South Africa, and in financial intelligence at Business Monitor International in London. Arend holds a B.A. in economics, politics, and Russian from McGill University in Montreal, and a M.S.c from the London School of Economics. He is fluent in English, German, and Spanish.
